21st Birthday at Hotel Allegro

Hi loves! I want to send a special thank you to everyone who has sent me sweet birthday wishes - and a big giant thank you to my love bug who made my day more than extraordinary!

Most people spend their 21st birthday going to the bars and getting drunk, but to be honest, I'm not a huge fan of drinking besides the occasional cocktail or glass of wine. So I definitely made planning a little difficult for Josh, but he knows me well enough and I couldn't have asked for a more perfect day!

Josh and I headed into the city for the day and stayed the night at the Kimpton Hotel Allegro, which was the absolute perfect place to spend such an important day! This hotel is an Art Deco theme, meaning it was something straight out of the Great Gatsby! I have adored all things Art Deco since forever, so I loved everything about this place.

The lobby was an absolute dream - and just so big! Kimpton hotels offer a social hour every evening where there's free wine to all of the guests. Unfortunately we were busy exploring during the time it was held, but there's always next time!

The staff here made our stay so special by leaving us some champagne, cake, treats, and flowers in our room! It wad such a sweet surprise and made me feel so special!

Our room was so spacious and gorgeous - just as pretty and inline with the theme as the lobby was!

After we checked into the hotel, we explored the city a bit and went out for some drinks (of course) and headed to a little surprise Josh had for me! He planned a private helicopter ride over Chicago - AH! We had so much fun and it was definitely one of the coolest things we've ever experienced.

After we did that, we headed back to the hotel to unwind a bit and enjoy our champagne before we headed to dinner. And I, of course, couldn't pass up the opportunity to shoot in the gorgeous lobby!

Josh made reservations at Cité, which is an absolutely beautiful French restaurant at the 70th floor of the Lake Point Tower; overlooking the lake and the city! He really went above and beyond with all of his surprises

It actually ended up thunderstorming while we were up top which made our experience even better! It was so peaceful to hear the rain over the twinkling city lights, and we could see lightning strike from miles away!

We thought we would go out for more drinks after dinner, but we were so exhausted from our busy day (and the heat - it was about 100 degrees that day!) that we just went back to the hotel and relaxed the rest of the night.

Overall, I had the absolute best day! Thank you so much to Kimpton Hotel Allegro for hosting us for such a special day!
